Freightliner was not 'chicken'' to reconsider the (s)pecking orders of ten FLB 75's in operation with Unitrans Rustenburg on one of the country's largest chicken (transport) runs.The Freightliner FLB's handed over eighteen months ago were found to be over-qualified for their 10 000 cackling charges from Rainbow Chickens that are being sent to slaughter every day. Danie Henning, market manager of Freightliner and the Unitrans technical team headed by Hylton Devenish, designed and specified a special purpose built Argosy truck tractor for their need, confidently imported it and provided it for a six month trial to their customers. It is the first custom-built Argosy into the Unitrans fleet, one of the countries leading transport companies. The contract manager of Unitrans Rustenburg, Raymond Coetzer is highly impressed with the performance of the vehicle and speculates that this unit could be the forerunner of another twenty units.
