Freightliner Trucks introduces the Coronado into the US market

Freightliner Trucks is introducing the new Coronado conventional-cab truck into the market. In the American market the new flagship is aimed at demanding owner-drivers who have the highest expectations of their trucks in terms of comfort, design, performance, safety and economy. The Freightliner Coronado combines traditional design elements with the latest technical and comfort features. The Coronado is available with a spacious, 2m long raised-roof sleeper cab, a medium XT (extra high) raised roof sleeper cab or a normal cab. The Coronado can be supplied with different engines by Detroit Diesel, Caterpillar and Cummins, with outputs of up to 450 kW (600 hp). It is fitted as standard with a 370 kW (500 hp) DDC Series 60 engine. The pronounced classical styling of the Coronado is continued in the interior. The high-quality ''Chaparral'' equipment package features various fabrics and linings in light-brown and grey colour shades, e.g. leather seat upholstery and a robust interior lining in antique-look leather. Oregon burr wood trim underlines the luxurious atmosphere of the Coronado. The chromed twin-spoke steering wheel is trimmed with leather and burr wood. The cabs provide plenty of space for working and sleeping. Freightliner offers a range of extras which enable the space in the interior to be used even more effectively. These include a built-in working/dining unit consisting of a folding table and chairs and up to an additional 1.6 cu. m. of stowage space. The truck manufacturer Freightliner has its headquarters in Portland, Oregon, USA and is a member of the DaimlerChrysler Group, the world's largest commercial vehicle manufacturer.
